Beneficence is an obligation to do good and includes providing benefits and balancing the benefits and risks to patients. The person who practices beneficence protects and defends the rights of others, prevents harm, removes conditions that will cause harm, helps people with disabilities, and rescues people in danger. The principle of justice refers to the equal distribution of benefits, risks, and resources. This principle dictates that each person shall have an equal share according to need, effort, contribution, and merit.
