Prefilled insulin syringes should be kept in the refrigerator until shortly before use. The syringe should warm to room temperature before using it. Once it has been used, however, it should not be put back into the refrigerator. It should be stored at room temperature. Insulin should never be frozen. Vials of insulin, incidentally, should be kept in the refrigerator.
