Hourly rounding is an evidence-based method of increasing patient satisfaction. Administering medications within a stricter timeframe may be impractical and has not been shown to increase patient satisfaction. Providing each patient with the opportunity to bathe daily is a basic standard of care, not a patient satisfaction improvement. Assessing each patient’s pain level hourly has been shown to increase patient satisfaction; assessing pain every four hours is a longer timeframe and has not been shown to increase patient satisfaction levels.
