White, curd-like vaginal discharge with itching and burning on urination and a clear cervical exam indicate vulvovaginal candidiasis, or vaginal yeast infection. This is treated with either a 7-day course of miconazole vaginal cream or a one-time dose of oral fluconazole. A 7-day course of fluconazole is reserved for cystitis or other more significant infections. Doxycycline and ceftriaxone are used in the treatment of gonorrhea, not candidiasis.
