For orthodox Judaism, organ transplantation is acceptable only after being approved by a rabbi. In addition, all body parts removed during an autopsy must be replaced prior to burial. Organ donation is acceptable for Catholics and many protestant Christian religions. According to Islamic beliefs, body parts may not be removed after death, however most Muslims have deemed organ transplantation to be acceptable for the greater good.
