Hemophilia A is an X-linked recessive disorder; males generally have the disorder while females are carriers. Therefore, the father has the disorder while the mom is a carrier. It is highly unlikely, although possible, that both parents have hemophilia A. Because the patient is male, it is not possible that the mother has hemophilia A and the father is only a carrier. Because it is an x-linked recessive disorder, it does not skip generations.
