The shoe covers are contaminated and should be removed while the gloves are still worn. Touching the mask with the face shield with contaminated gloves risks coming in contact with the face. Therefore, after removing the shoe covers with the gloves on, the gloves are taken off. Then, hand hygiene is performed. Once the hands are clean, the mask with face shield can be removed by grasping the ear loops (which are considered clean). Hand hygiene would be performed once more.
