A presumptive sign of pregnancy is something the mother experiences, like amenorrhea, nausea/vomiting, fatigue, increases size and tenderness of the breasts, etc. Probable signs are those the provider can feel or assess but are not necessarily proof of pregnancy. Uterine enlargement is a possible sign of pregnancy. Positive signs of pregnancy are ones that demonstrate the presence of a fetus, such as fetus visualization on ultrasound. “Definitive” is not used to describe pregnancy in this context.
