Autocratic or authoritarian leadership is centralized at the top. Decisions are made unilaterally and without seeking or including input from subordinates. Transformational leadership seeks to convey the vision and goals of the organization to inspire subordinates to work diligently within the system. Democratic leaders seek input from members of the group and pursue actions that reflect the wishes of the majority. Laissez-faire leadership is very limited leadership. It allows events to take place as they will and react to circumstances after the fact.
