Persistent vaginal yeast infections can be caused by glucosuria, which may indicate diabetes mellitus. Therefore, a fasting blood glucose level and HbA1C would be indicated. Although a lipid panel may be indicated for an obese patient with mild hypertension, it does not address the primary concern of persistent vaginal yeast infections. Yeast infections can be present in patients with HIV infections, but the other assessment data do not indicate HIV. A pap smear is not indicated at this time.
