A discussion involving end of life issues is a serious discussion and should take place ideally in a quiet private location that is in a health-care location, such as a hospital. The location should not be public, noisy or busy as that will be a distraction and may inhibit the patient. A building with religious significance is not appropriate even if it is the patient’s own religious preference. Public restaurants and bars are also not appropriate. The location should be in a place that reflects the issues being discussed, which are strictly healthcare oriented.
