HEENT

Head, eyes, ears, nose, and throat (HEENT) is a mnemonic for a common approach to the physical examination of these body regions. The HEENT examination includes an assessment of the patient's head (including hair, scalp, skull, and face), eyes (including eyelids, conjunctiva, sclera, and pupils), ears (including external ear, tympanic membrane, and auditory canals), nose (including nasal cavity and sinuses), and throat (including oral mucosa, teeth, gums, tonsils, and pharynx).
